But there is one aspect still little or no reference: the safety of these products. How does a refrigerator , a surveillance camera or a connected TV are they protected against viruses and hackers? The giant Hewlett-Packard (or HP) conducted a study on this subject whose findings are troubling for many. 70% of connected objects evaluated had numerous vulnerabilities that could be easily exploited.

Terms of insufficient data. Eight out of ten devices were mismanaging the confidentiality of information provided by the user, such as name, email or postal address, date of birth, credit card information or health data. And 90% of the tested devices were collecting at least one personal information via the product itself, the service cloud or implementing mobile.
